Choices In Learning National Foundation is dedicated to supporting local and national non-profit organizations that are committed to positive community change and improving the lives of those they serve.
Dr. Ira OpatowskyChairman of the Board
Ira E. Opatowsky, M.D. was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He attended the University of California at Davis graduating in three years Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. Degree in Bacteriology. Dr Opatowsky received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego. He completed a one year transitional internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He then returned to UC San Diego to complete a residency in Ophthalmology serving as chief resident during his final year of training. Dr Opatowsky moved to Lancaster, CA to accept a position as a comprehensive ophthalmologist in private practice. He then founded Antelope Valley Eye Care in Lancaster with a satellite clinic in Ridgecrest, CA. He continues to provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care to the Antelope Valley and Ridgecrest areas. He is the majority owner of Envision Surgery Center, an ambulatory surgery center in Lancaster.
Dr. Opatowsky married his high school sweetheart, Ilana, and they have four children.
Rawleigh was born and raised in Southern California. He joined the Coast Guard after high school and graduated number one in his class, serving in the Coast Guard for four years as a Rescue Crewman and Admiral's Aide. After the Coast Guard he worked for a season at Dodger Stadium then attended University of Redlands where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems. After college, Rawleigh began work in the financial technology industry and then moved to the spatial technology industry. He sold the technology to Google in 2003 that created Google Maps. For the last four years he has enjoyed working for Google as a Senior Geo Specialist.
Rawleigh married his beautiful and humorous wife Stacie in 1999. They are happily married and have two wonderful sons who completed their family - the joy of his life. He also loves golf, skiing, reading, themed runs/5ks, and spending time with his family.
